Today MusicNamaste introduces a very talented artist in the field of Carnatic Music, Kum. Shreya Ashok from Dallas, Texas, USA.
Shreya Ashokkrishnan is a disciple of Vid.Smt.Neyveli Ramalakshmi . She has also learnt from Smt. Saundaram Krishnan of Chennai. Shreya started learning since she was four years old. She has also learnt to play Carnatic violin under Dr.Venkatraman Subramianan for 9 years.
Notable Achievements:
She has won several accolades from variety of organizations like Cleveland Tyagaraja Aardhana, Papanaasam music festival for many years consecutively and many local organizations in the USA as well. She was runner up Carnatic Idol 2014. She has recorded two albums with the blessing of her past guru Venkata Gireesham ( Annamacharya ) and Navaratnamalika (Tiruvotiyur Tyagaiyer and Tacchur Singaracharya).
She has performed in India during Margazhi festivals and performs often in US based organization like Houston classical music association, San Diego youth fine arts , Saptami sabha , Papanaasam sivan academy amongst others . She is grateful to her gurus and all mentors who encourage in her continuing journey with music.
