Dr.Sirisha Duvvuru – Carnatic Artist

Today with great joy, MusicNamaste introduces a very talented Carnatic artist, Dr.Sirisha Duvvuru.

Dr.Sirisha Duvvuru, is an Indian classical vocalist who is formally trained in Carnatic classical music since the age of 6. She underwent basic training under the guidance of Smt. Seethamahalakshmi and Smt. Padmavathi from Hyderabad. She received training in advanced aspects of music like varnams, krithis and manodharmam with Vid.Padma Vishwanath and Vid. Koviladi kala from Mysore. She is currently disciple of Smt. Kanchana Rajesh (disciple of Vid Ranjani and Gayathri) and is performing carnatic concerts, arangetrams and in recording studios through out USA. She recieved her masters degree in Carnatic music from Padmavathi Mahila University, Tirupathi.

She has taught Carnatic music for 8 years and is currently on the performing side of musical career. She has performed in prestegious platforms like Tirumala Tirupati devasthanams, Bhadrachalam in india and continue to give concerts in different states throughout USA (indiana, michigan, brimingham, Tennessee etc).

By profession, Sirisha Duvvuru is a Speech language Pathologist who works with children and adults with various communication issues like autism, learning disabilities, feeding and swallowing disorders etc. She obtained her doctorate in Speech pathology from University of Tennessee, Knoxville specializing in voice science and technology. Her vision is to integrate voice science into Carnatic singing and engage into research projects that help hack the best vocal technique for south Indian classical music.
