Shankari Aravind – Emerging Carnatic Artist

This festive season, with great joy MusicNamaste introduces a very talented emerging artist, Kum.Shankari Aravind. Shankari Arvind has been learning Carnatic Classical music since 2013 under the tutelage of her Guru, Smt Lakshmi Padmanabhan.

Even as Shankari is training to be a lawyer, she continues to pursue her passion, music.
She has been learning Carnatic Classical music since over a decade now, and has showcased her performances on various platforms – physical and virtual.

Under the tutelage of her Guru, Smt Lakshmi Padmanabhan, Shankari has won many prizes in Carnatic music vocal competitions in the sabhas in Mumbai and Tamil Nadu. She has also led group of singers at various group singing opportunities like bhajans and other devotional songs. Her team reached the final rounds at the All India Bhajan Samrat competition which was telecast across the world by Sri Sankara
TV.

She has been taught to render Krithis of the Trinity and, other great composers like Swati Thirunal, Patnam Subramania Iyer, Papanasam Sivan, Harikesannalur  Muthaiah Bhagavathar and Neelakanta Sivan. She is also learning manodharma aspects like Raga Alapana, Kalpana Swarams and singing Virutthams. Shankari has given many full length concerts in the traditional format.

Shankari was awarded with the ‘silver lamp’ on two occasions for her outstanding performance amidst her peer group in competitions held at the prestigious Shanmukhananda Sabha, Mumbai. She was awarded the “Best Budding Musician in Mumbai”, by the same Sabha in 2019. She has won numerous awards on various stages till date.
